The Essence

Born from the mist that never sleeps

The local people named it Mosi-oa-Tunya — “the smoke that thunders.” Where the Zambezi falls, a perpetual cloud of spray rises hundreds of metres into the sky, visible from miles away. That mist is proof of something profound: the air here is heavy with the purest water on earth.

TUNYA doesn't bore into ancient aquifers or ship heavy water across oceans. We do what the falls have always done — we draw water from the air itself, then bottle it with the care a great vintage deserves.

    Capture

    Solar-powered generators draw in the warm, humid air that rises off the Zambezi gorge — no boreholes, no drained aquifers.

    Condense

    The air is gently cooled past its dew point, and pure moisture condenses into water — the same alchemy that feeds the falls' eternal mist.

    Mineralize

    We reintroduce a tuned profile of living minerals for a clean, silken mouthfeel and a balanced, faintly sweet finish.

    Bottle

    Hand-finished into 750 ml reusable glass, batch-numbered and traced to the day the sky gave it up. Never plastic.

Yes. Our solar-powered atmospheric water generators (AWG) draw in humid air, cool it below its dew point, and collect the pure condensed water. It is the same natural process that creates the eternal mist of Victoria Falls — just captured and bottled.

It means the full lifecycle of a case of TUNYA — harvesting, mineralising, bottling and regional delivery — removes or avoids more CO₂e than it produces. We lean into provenance, not offsets: renewable energy powers the process and no fuel-intensive shipping of heavy water across oceans is required.

Clean and silken, with a tuned mineral profile designed for the palate. We reintroduce a balanced blend of living minerals for a soft mouthfeel and a faintly sweet, refreshing finish that pairs beautifully with fine dining.
